Les Standiford, Director of the Creative Writing Program, is witnessing his book “The Man who Invented Christmas” come to life on the big screen.
Mr. Standiford’s book tells the story of how Charles Dickens came to write A Christmas Carol, one of the most beloved Christmas classics of all time, in six weeks all while Dickens was ill. While A Christmas Carol has been made into dozens of movies, less is known of the story of how Dickens came to create the classic tale.
The movie with the same title is set to release November 20th in select theaters around the country.
Learn more about how the film came to be at a special free panel discussion with the book’s author, Les Standiford; the producers Mitchell Kaplan, Paula Mazur, Robert Mickelson; and director Bharat Nalluri at the Miami Book Fair on Sunday, November 19 at 3pm.
