Dr. Robert V. Farrell, also known as Dr. Bob, was a founding faculty member of FIU. He was passionate about the world and deeply concerned about its future. He valued the environment, believed in principles that defined community, had a fierce love for people, and was devoted to his wife and family. Bob lived his life as a man hungry for adventure and driven by a need to experience as much of life as possible in whatever time he had.
As much as he is missed, his legacy will live on with scholarships to students pursuing globally focused research and practice in sustainable development, particularly students who are enrolled in the Peace Corps Prep or Global Learning Medallion program at FIU.
