The American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) 40 Under Forty program recognizes members under the age of 40 for their achievements and leadership qualities that are making an impact on pathology and laboratory medicine.

Pathologists, Laboratory Professionals and Residents are chosen annually through an application or nomination process. The program has recognized worthy members of the laboratory team both nationally and internationally.

Christopher Lawrence De Jesus, MSFS, C(ASCP)CM, is a toxicologist specializing in identifying and measuring toxins and drugs. He is involved in developing methods using liquid-chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry for the measurement of drugs and/or metabolites in biological matrices. He currently works at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City, as a laboratory technologist in the clinical pharmacology and toxicology laboratory.

Originally from Manila, Philippines, he came to the United States to study and pursue a career in analytical and forensic toxicology. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of the Philippines in Manila and his master’s degree in forensic science from FIU.
